Sports - Access and Innovation
While many young people dream of being a professional athlete, there’s so much more to sports than just playing the game. Being involved in sports teaches discipline, hard work, good sportsmanship, resilience, and teamwork - and it provides the opportunity for great mentorship.
Sport Innovation refers to the business of sport. There are different elements that play into professional sports such as coaching, marketing, technology, development, community engagement, and so on! Our goal is to educate young people in these communities in an effort to open up new, creative avenues for them.
Sport Innovation gives these young people more opportunity to be involved in the professional sports world, athlete or otherwise.
Through Sport Access, we provide resources and relationships to give youth access to expanded opportunities in the sports world. Many of the sports today - including but not limited to golf, baseball, tennis, and soccer - require significant funds and proper relationships to participate. Oftentimes this can be difficult for kids living in under-resourced communities.
This is where CEOC has been called to assist those who are willing the opportunity to participate.
“The Lord used sports as a vehicle to give me an opportunity to succeed in life, on and off the field. Playing sports instilled discipline, sacrifice, and perseverance in me. I was blessed to have great coaches and teachers throughout my entire athletic career. Sports also introduced me to the mentors who would help me seize opportunities that would shape my future, as I have now transitioned into the business of sport.”
